Orientations Set the Tone for Successful School Year

On the eve of first day classes, Dalton students had a chance to visit their schools during the system-wide orientation on Wednesday, August 8, 2012.

The orientations provided information for students and opportunities to meet new teachers and classmates.

Parents and students exit Westwood after orientation.

During orientation, students got to: meet his/her new teacher, see his/her new classroom and walk around the school to get acquainted with the hallways. Parents also filled out paperwork with the students to tell things such as how the child would be getting home, contact information and any known allergies. If a child missed orientation, they would have to fill out the required paperwork before going to class on the first day of school.
