Brookwood Celebrates Constitution Week

In honor of Constitution Day on September 17, Brookwood School declared the week of the September 17-21 as Constitution Week.

As part of the observance, Dalton resident Kathryn Sellers came to speak to the Brookwood fifth graders about the United States Constitution.

Sellers, who is a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Whitfield-Murray Historical Society, came dressed in period attire from the 1700s.

“I’m talking about how the Constitution was made,” Sellers said of her presentation, “what it means, how it was developed, and really what it means to us.”

The DAR sends members to local schools every year at this time to speak to the students about the history of the Constitution and how it help start the United States of America.
