Some Brookwood fifth graders experience a bit of a “shock” while electricity travels from Dalton High teacher Tony Carlson through a real “hands-on” activity.
Brookwood School’s fifth-grade students traveled to Dalton High School recently for “Lab Cats,” a fun filled day of science hosted by the high school. Several Dalton High teachers and students spent the day giving the fifth-grade students an opportunity to participate in science labs. Students traveled through stations that were designed around the Georgia Performance Standards in science. Students solved crimes, used microscopes to observe cells, did experiments showing chemical and physical changes, received a big shock when investigating electricity and even dissected a pig, shark, frog, and snake.
