Martineaux to Lead Blue Ridge School

martineauxDr. Alan Martineaux has been named the new principal of Blue Ridge School. The Dalton Board of Education approved the appointment its regular September meeting. He has been the assistant principal at the school and follows Dr. Lisa Goode who is moving to the central office to join the content and engagement team as a director of school support. Brookwood School Named Finalist for STEM Education Awards

1st day 70For the third year in a row, the Technology Association of Georgia (TAG) and the TAG Education Collaborative (TAG-Ed) named Brookwood School a finalist in the 2015 Georgia Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) Education Awards. Little, City Park, First United Methodist Church Receives Honors

Dr. Rick Little may have retired in May, but he and his former school, City Park, are still winning awards. The Georgia Association of School Principals presented Little with the 2015 Georgia Distinguished Service Award and the Jim Puckett Outstanding Educator Award. City Park received the 2015 School Bell Award for its “Pay it Forward” program. The Dalton Public Schools Board of Education recognized the recipients during the August Regular Meeting. Dalton Staff Prepare for School Start


Employees from across Dalton Public Schools returned to work on Monday for pre-planning to kick off the 2015-16 school year. The day was filled with meetings, greetings and preparing classrooms and the school for students to return on Thursday, Aug. 6. Most school principals started the day off with staff meetings but gave their teachers time to meet with their grade level or teaching teams and start readying their rooms for students.
